PERSONAL NOTE
Design is not always about making huge and complex ideas. Sometimes, the most simple elements can help you create fantastic worlds, and in theatre, the huge advantage we have creating anything is that audience is often willing to share that fantastic vision that is evidently far from reality. In those cases, what you really need is to convince everyone involved, including the audience, off course, that what you are proposing, no matter how simple or absurd, feels and looks right for the moment and for the story.
This approach to Kaufman´s play worked with that principle in every aspect. A blank newspaper can become a piece of evidence in a trial. Simple actions reveal the cruelty and inequity that the story is telling, and no big gestures are needed.
